Our joy does not rest on what we do for God but on what Christ has done for us. In him we have a living hope, and through the Spirit we are strengthened to live each day in faith and obedience. This is why Paul can command us to “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil 4:4)—because our life in Christ is secure and our joy in him cannot be shaken.
On January 24, join us for By Faith 2026, a conference hosted by The Gospel Coalition Canada and Heritage College & Seminary for young adults. Together we will explore how the gospel gives lasting joy and shapes our daily walk with Jesus. The day will feature rich fellowship, dynamic preaching, and practical workshops—all aimed to encourage you in faithful living and joyful perseverance in Christ.
Also note that before the main conference begins, you can register for a special Friday night gathering featuring a devotional and a panel discussion with our keynote speakers on discerning a call into ministry.
The event is for young adults up to thirty years of age.

God's Called Me to Ministry. Now What?
Kesavan Balasingham, Dwayne Cline, Jonathan Griffiths, Dan MacDonald, George Sinclair, Robbie Symons, Deanna Spoelstra, and Stephanie Kish
Are you prayerfully exploring a call to full-time ministry? Join us Friday night, January 23rd, for an evening designed to guide and inspire both men and women as they consider their role in ministry. The evening will begin with a brief devotional. For men, the devotional will be followed by an open, honest panel discussion on discerning God’s direction for your life in pastoral ministry. Whether this is your first step or part of a second career, or you are training men for ministry, come ready for meaningful conversation, prayer, and practical insight—leave encouraged, challenged, and equipped to take the next step. Pastors Kesavan Balasingham, Dwayne Cline, Jonathan Griffiths, Dan MacDonald, George Sinclair, and Robbie Symons will lead this session. At the same time, a parallel session will be held for women considering how God may be calling them to serve in ministry. This session will offer space for thoughtful teaching, discussion, and encouragement as women seek to faithfully discern and embrace their unique role in Christ’s mission. Deanna Spoelstra and Stephanie Kish will lead this session. Although this gathering takes place the evening prior to the TGCC/Heritage Young Adult event, all men and women considering ministry—or those training and supporting them—are warmly invited to join us.
Identity Shaped by the Gospel
Dan MacDonald
The letter to the Philippians reminds us that our identity is not anchored in earthly status, success, or self-definition, but in union with Christ. Paul calls believers to count all things as loss compared to knowing Him, to live as citizens of heaven, and to find joy in sharing Christ’s sufferings and resurrection hope. In this breakout, we will explore how Philippians grounds our identity in the person and work of Jesus, and how this transforms the way we think, serve, suffer, and rejoice as His people in a world that offers counterfeit identities.
Dating with Purpose: Honouring God in Relationships
Derek & Fiona Hisson
Dating in a way that honours God can be difficult, especially in today’s world. It does not help that the Bible does not seem to mention dating directly at all. Yet God’s Word teaches us how to love him, how to love others and how to best live our lives. By focusing on the gospel, we can approach dating in a way that honours God and helps us grow in our love and obedience to Christ.
Enough: Finding Contentment in a Restless World
Dwayne Cline, Deanna Spoelstra
In a world that constantly tells us we need more - more success, more stuff, more validation - Paul's letter to the Philippians offers a radical alternative: true contentment no matter the circumstances. This workshop dives into Philippians 4 to explore how joy, peace, and purpose can be found not in what we have or our circumstances, but in who we know. Navigating pressure, comparison, and uncertainty, this session offers honest conversation, biblical truth, and practical ways to live with confidence and contentment in Christ. Come discover how to say, like Paul, "I have learned to be content." This workshop will be led by Dwayne Cline and Deanna Spoelstra, who will share personal stories and wisdom they've gained from their own journeys toward contentment. With honesty and insight, they'll reflect on how God has shaped their understanding of joy and peace — not in ideal circumstances, but often in the midst of life’s uncertainties.
Praying to Get Along
Wayne Baxter
Conflict in the church is inevitable. So, how are we to navigate our way through it? One of the reasons why Paul wrote to the Philippians was to help that church deal with the conflicts they were experiencing. The Apostle’s prayer for that church lies at the heart of his letter to them. Understanding that prayer and learning how to pray it (alongside Paul) can help us deal with the conflicts we are facing.
Living Faithfully at School and Work
Wyatt Graham, Ian Vaillancourt, Christian Clement-Schlimm, Steve West
How can Christians live out their faith with integrity in schools and workplaces that increasingly challenge biblical convictions on sex, marriage, sanctity of life, and more? This panel explores how to hold fast to Christ while engaging classmates, colleagues, and others with grace and courage. Together we will discuss the opportunities and costs of public witness, the wisdom needed to navigate complex ethical questions, and the hope that sustains us when convictions bring conflict. Join us to learn how to live faithfully, wisely, and joyfully for Christ in the everyday settings of study and work.
Our Neighbours & The Nations
Kesavan Belasingham, Christian Clement-Schlimm, Frank Vandermeulen, Kim McGibbon
The glory of God is displayed through a disciple-making culture of the local church, and His glory is extended as we bear witness to the lost in a pluralistic society. Discipleship and evangelism are inseparably linked. We invite you to participate in a panel discussion that will explore why reaching our neighbours and nurturing their spiritual maturity is essential preparation for engaging the nations and guiding them toward maturity in Christ.
When Standing For Truth Costs You Everything
Dwayne Cline, RD Glenn, George Sinclair
In Canada, the social and cultural pressures to compromise on biblical truth is very strong and shows no sign of lessening. Often the pressure now also comes from within our own churches and denominations. Some formerly sound parachurch and seminary movements add confusion, not strength to you and your church's witness. In this panel we will talk with two men who led their churches through this situation, eventually getting sued, losing their building and assets in the process.
