Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from pastors across Canada. We hope that you become familiar with some of the faithful ministers of the word in our nation. We also hope that you will be edified on your daily commute or whenever you listen to these messages. We lastly hope that you learn about the churches where these pastors minister, so that you can easily find Gospel-centered, expository churches in your region.

Clint Humfrey on Genesis 3:15 (Calgary)

The Miracles of Christmas

  1. We Need a Miracle
  2. The Miracle Seed
  3. The Promise Comes True

If you look at the world today, every solution has been attempted to fix things: better education, better health, better communication and more. But all of these things have failed. What we really need is a miracle. And the miracle is in the One who was promised, who came, and who lives and reigns today, the Seed of the Woman, Jesus Christ.

Here is the sermon.

Rob Godard on “The Great I am” from John 6:35-51 (Surrey)

There are many things that satisfy us, however, only one Person can truly satisfy. We live in a world that is constantly going to sinful things to satisfy. This claim of Jesus is powerful in that it displays for us that He is the only one who can truly satisfy us!As you study this text with us, remember that Jesus is the only one who can offer eternal life, the only one who can declare: “whoever believes in me will never hunger again…”

Dan Thomson on 2 Samuel 23:1-7 (Charlottetown)

Although in this passage, these aren’t the last actual words spoken by David, they were David’s last formal reflection on the state of his reign under God’s covenant with him. We have hope, because God is working out his plan in and through David and beyond him through Christ, now and forevermore. His eternal kingdom will reign. For that, we have reason to hope.

Steve Kim on Mark 10:35-45 (Toronto)

People were eager to meet Jesus because they were looking to be healed of their diseases and demonic possession. But is that why Jesus primarily came? What was the mission of Jesus Christ? In Mark’s gospel, there are three accounts where Jesus explicitly states why he came. Jesus’ mission was to preach the good news that he would save sinners by giving up his life as a ransom payment.
