Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from pastors across Canada. We hope that you become familiar with some of the faithful ministers of the word in our nation. We also hope that you will be edified on your daily commute or whenever you listen to these messages. We lastly hope that you learn about the churches where these pastors minister, so that you can easily find Gospel-centered, expository churches in your region.

Josh Tong on “The Sanctity Of Life – Strength and Strategy For The Cause Of Life” from Proverbs 24:1-14 (King City)

Thirty years ago, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down the laws regulating abortion in Canada, and since then, no laws have been passed to fill this legislative void. In this sermon on the sanctity of life, Pastor Josh walks through Proverbs 24 to see what Scripture calls Christians to do when it comes to abortion.

Clint Humfrey on Philippians 1:18-21 (Calgary)

In a time of dread about the future, we need to be reminded of the goodness of God and the sureness of His promises. When we hold on to His promises, we have a buoyant expectancy that says, ‘to live is Christ and to die is gain’. In the first of a two part series, we’ll see the promise of the believer’s resurrection as a source of great expectation today.

Here are the sermon’s main points:

  1. The Eager Expectation of the Unashamed Christian
  2. The Role of Prayer in Eager Expectation
  3. The Eager Expectation: To Live Is Christ and To Die Is Gain

George Sinclair on John 3:22-36 (Ottawa)

Who in their right mind would ever say, “He must increase but I must decrease?” To most Canadians the statement is the opposite of health. Let’s listen to John 3:22-36 and consider the deep wisdom of John the Baptist’s testimony about Jesus.

Rob Godard on Being Ambassadors from 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 (Surrey)

Who are you? Why do you exist? How can you use your life for maximum impact in the short time that you have here?

One of the most important ministry descriptions we are given in the Bible is, Ambassador. Once we recognize this role that we are to play, all of life becomes meaningful as we seek to represent Him well. The most important job that you have, is to be an Ambassador for Jesus.

Our hope is that after interacting with this text, you will not only understand your role, but you will also be pursuing greatness as His representative, and through this, pleasing Him.

Jeff Eastwood on 1 Samuel 17 (Charlottetown)

The story of David and Goliath is one of the most well known and easily recognized Bible stories, used even today as a sports analogy or any time a perceived underdog triumphs. Because of that we must guard against familiarity breeding contempt as we look into 1 Samuel 17. We must also guard against seeing either David or ourselves as the hero of this narrative, when instead the hero is God and the main point is recognizing His weightiness when others defy Him and take Him lightly. Listen in as Pastor Jeff Eastwood preaches ‘Worship and Faith’.
