Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from pastors across Canada. We hope that you become familiar with some of the faithful ministers of the word in our nation. We also hope that you will be edified on your daily commute or whenever you listen to these messages. We lastly hope that you learn about the churches where these pastors minister, so that you can easily find Gospel-centered, expository churches in your region.

Jeff Eastwood on 1 Samuel 29 (Charlottetown)

Worship of God is only possible because of salvation, and in turn, that salvation continually causes more worship. In 1 Samuel 29, David is saved from a deep mess that he has gotten himself into, revealing the reality of his sinfulness and the glory of God’s grace and mercy. Watch as Pastor Jeff leads us through “Worship and Salvation” and points us to the One who is truly blameless and thus our only hope for redemption and reconciliation to God.

Paul Carter on Mark 14:1-11 “She Has Done A Beautiful Thing For Me” (Orillia)

Why was this story so offensive? According to the Gospel writers all of the disciples were offended – Judas so much so that he began to look for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to the authorities. What in the world went down in the house of Simon the Leper? Pastor Paul Carter offers a few thoughts on gender, worship and the offense that leads to apostasy.

Clint Humfrey on Philippians 2:19-30 (Calgary)

If you follow social media, you could get the impression that pastors are mostly charlatans, predators, narcissists or dictators. But according to Scripture, faithful pastors are gifts given to the church by God for its good. Paul reminds the Philippians of two faithful pastors and encourages them to “honour such men.” How can Paul’s view of faithful pastors in the 1st century be adopted by the church in the 21st century?

Here are the sermon’s main points -Honour Such Men: Rejoicing with Pastors of Proven Worth and Sacrificial Service:

  1. Pastors of Proven Worth
  2. Pastors of Sacrificial Service
  3. Happy to Honour Such Men

Paul Martin on Exodus 25 (Toronto)

After God saves His people and enters into covenant with them, he then tells them how he is to be worshipped. This week Paul Martin looked at God’s instructions for building the tabernacle. Everything about the tabernacle told the Israelites they were so close and yet so far from God. But after Jesus came to dwell among His people and die for them, the temple curtain separating people from God was torn. We now have access to the presence of God. One day we will dwell with Him forever, face to face.

Here is the message.

George Sinclair on John 10:22-42 (Ottawa)

What’s up with Jesus saying people are gods? I thought Christians do not believe that? Doesn’t this undercut Jesus’ claim to be God? And how come Jesus cannot give a plain answer when people ask? What’s up with that? Is that why some Christians seem uncomfortable with pointed questions? Let’s look at John 10:22-42 and see what is really going on.

Here’s the link to George’s sermon.
