Truth today is often thought to be based on personal feelings rather than facts. So what does it mean when Jesus says that he is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6)? Jesus’ radical claim means that we can know truth when we know him. No matter what other ideas or religions say, Christians can hold firmly to the fullness of truth that is found in Jesus Christ.
The annual Gospel Coalition Canada Youth Conference returns June 6-7, 2025, titled “The Truth Has Come.” Youth are invited to discover God’s truth through engaging speakers, inspiring worship and exciting activities. Alongside peers from across Ontario and beyond, youth will deepen their understanding of God’s unchanging nature and discover how the Christian faith is both loving and reliable.
The event is for youth currently in high school up to twenty years of age.
Conference registration for attendees opens in February.

Balancing Faith and Sports: The Pursuit of Intensity Without Ultimacy
James Kryger
The talk will explore the relationship between faith and sports, addressing how the intensity of athletic pursuits can sometimes challenge and sometimes complement one's ultimate commitment to faith. It examines the priorities athletes face when striving for excellence on the field while maintaining a life centred on spiritual values. Through personal stories and biblical insights, the talk invites reflection on aligning passion for sports with faith in a way that honors both. It will challenge you to consider how you can compete with intensity in sports without losing sight of your ultimate purpose in Christ.
Bringing Christ to Our Non-Christian Neighbours - Panel Discussion
Kesavan Balasingham, Bill DeJong, Jessica Joustra, and Raphael Samuel
This panel, featuring seasoned Christians with expertise in cross-cultural gospel communication, will explore how to relate the gospel message to non-Christians and those from non-Christian cultures. The exclusive claims of Christ can be challenging—even offensive—to our Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu friends, who deeply cherish their own faith traditions. How can we present Christ’s claims in a way that is both respectful and compelling?
Don’t Take it Lightly: The Forgotten Caution About Casual Christianity
Janet & Avery Surrette
Most folks can spout off the third commandment–“you shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”—and have a general idea of what it means, yet a close look at the text indicates that, while revering God’s name in our speech is a good thing, it may be a underapplication of the intended meaning. This should be concerning, considering that the third commandment is one of only two of the famous ten that come with a caution, and not a tiny one at that. Join us as we connect this text to a related and repeated emphasis throughout the New Testament, to be captivated by a robust, life-altering, and Christ-honouring mandate that we may have missed along the way.
Evangelism in Action: A Hands-On Workshop for Sharing the Gospel
Kelly Yen & Jessica Horton
Do you have a desire to see your friends and your family, and even strangers, come to know Jesus? Would you like to learn a simple, biblical and reproducible tool to share the gospel with others? Join us at Share Jesus where we will answer the questions, “Why should we share Jesus with others?” and “How can we share Jesus with others?” Whether you are a new believer or a seasoned Christian, you can use this training immediately to share Jesus with others!
Dating with Purpose: Honouring God in Relationships
Derek & Fiona Hisson
Dating in a way that honours God can be difficult, especially in today’s world. It does not help that the Bible does not seem to mention dating directly at all. Yet God’s Word teaches us how to love him, how to love others and how to best live our lives. By focusing on the gospel, we can approach dating in a way that honours God and helps us grow in our love and obedience to Christ.
The History of The World's Most Important Book
Jonathan Loopstra
What can we learn about how the Bible has been transmitted to us? How did Jewish and Christian scribes preserve the Scriptures? More importantly, how reliable are these ancient biblical manuscripts? In today's age of social media and electronic communication, some may question the trustworthiness of biblical texts that were originally written on clay and animal skins. In these workshops, we will explore how the Bible has been handed down to us in various languages, including Hebrew, Greek, Syriac, Latin, Coptic, and Ethiopian. Together we will look at some of the most significant surviving manuscripts, asking how these ancient texts should influence our reading of the Bible today. Participants will have the opportunity to handle samples of writing materials such as papyrus, parchment and vellum, including a centuries-old codex made of wood and animal skins. By the end of these workshops, participants will have a deeper understanding of the manuscript evidence for the Bible and its reliability.
Who Are You? Understanding the Intersection of Identity and Anxiety
Paul Stimers
We are in the middle of a mental health epidemic. The most recent Canadian statistics indicate that youth mental health is declining rapidly. Mood and anxiety disorders are on the rise and are the most common mental health concerns in both Canada and throughout the world. 39% of Ontario high-school students report moderate-to-serious levels of anxiety and depression. In this workshop, we'll explore how identity is inseparable from our experience with anxiety and how the Truth can set us free.
YOUTH LEADERS ONLY: Ministering to Gen Z and Gen Alpha
Dwayne Cline
Youth ministry has changed, but the gospel has not. How do we share the gospel with a generation that believes they create their own identities and ‘cancel’ anyone or anything that disagrees with them? In the 28 years Dwayne pastored James North, the church would see over 100 unchurched youth a week in their programs and ministries. In this workshop, Dwayne will share some of his thoughts on reaching this generation and lead a conversation where participants can share with one another their ministry best practices.
