About

Many of us are tired, weak, and weary. But Jesus promises, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” And even if we feel strong, we must still “strive to enter that rest” as Hebrews tell us. Whether we feel weak or strong, we all must rest in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So join us for a two-day conference on November 17–18, 2022 as we come as pilgrims to hear God’s message of rest in the Gospel.

The conference will be held at Hope Bible Church in Oakville, Ontario. It is located near hotels and restaurants and is within driving distance from either the Hamilton or Toronto Pearson airport.

Acts 29 Canada is also offering a pre-conference called “Planting Gospel Presence.” To learn more and register for it, click here.

Church Planting in the “wrong” places

Church planters sometimes strategize to plant churches in areas full of churches and financial resources. But oftentimes planting in the “wrong” place—where Christians are few and finances are scarce—is what church planters must focus on to fulfill the Great Commission. Join Steve Bray as he talks about church planting in hard soils, the so-called “wrong” places.

Andrea Thom

What Is Real Forgiveness?

Its mere mention can ignite anger, stir hope, or rouse memories we’d rather keep buried. Injustice is an unwelcome reality that comes to us all, forcing us to make difficult decisions in complex relationships. Despite its familiarity, debates about its definition can be clumsy, contradictory, and result in a foggy understanding of what it actually is. What is biblical forgiveness? How is it applied? How does it differ from a therapeutic approach? In this session we will unpack some key biblical truths that will help bring clarity and wisdom to this essential topic.

Clint Humfrey

Prayer Meeting Activism

We live in an age of activism. Causes and rallies exist everywhere. For those who seek a good and just society, it can be overwhelming. But Christians have a unique form of activism that outperforms the rest. We can pray to the almighty Creator of heaven and earth. Join pastor Clint Humfrey as he talks about prayer meeting activism for local churches.

Jennifer Winger

Lord, why is Judges 19 in your word?

Judges 19 addresses important questions concerning the privilege of power, the abuse of power, sexual abuse, and the protection of those who are vulnerable versus the protection of the powerful. All of these topics are embedded in Judges 19 and its surrounding contexts. This session will equip you to think carefully about these questions.

The conference will be held at Hope Bible Church in Oakville, Ontario. It is located near hotels and restaurants and is within driving distance from either the Hamilton or Toronto Pearson airport.
