Every week we want to bring to your attention expository, Gospel-centred sermons from pastors across Canada. Returning to our series in Romans: Identity in Christ we focus this week on marriage.
Marriage is one of the most beautiful God-given gifts in the world today. Marriage is His idea, and it is a creation ordinance for all humans to enjoy. In our text, Paul uses God’s view of marriage to help us to understand our relationship as followers of Jesus with the law.
May God use this text to help His followers know how serious and superb marriage is, and to ensure in our own lives and marriages we are displaying our commitment to Him and His Word

As a leader in your home, are you a dictator or a leading servant? The word “discouraged” means to be broken in spirit. It is to be disheartened or dispirited. If you constantly discipline your children in a way that embitters them, they may get to a point where they just give up trying to please you. And if we provoke them to anger, discourage them, and cause them to lose respect for authority figures, they will almost inevitably grow up with no regard or reverence and honour for the Lord. We are to be Christ’s ambassador in the home. H.B. Charles said, “You cannot get over what God has put under you until you get under what God has put over you, because God is a God of order.”
