“Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground” (Gen 4:3). “Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions” (Gen 4:4). God accepted only one of the offerings: “And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard” (Gen 4:4–5). Why? Did Abel Merit God’s Acceptance?
