The community of Kilbride has never had an evangelical, gospel-centred church in its 132-year history.
That changed on June 6, 2021, when Kilbride Community Church had its first service with 22 attendees in the basement of the local community centre.
In a year full of bad news, we can praise the Lord for a good news story about the Good News in Canada. Here is a little bit about the background of the church.
In late 2019, Kilbride Community Church began building a foundation in the St. John’s neighbourhood of Kilbride by launching a community Bible study. After seven weeks, one person from the community of ~10,000 attended.
As COVID19 fell upon St. John’s in 2020 and the city wrestled through numerous lockdowns, the KCC team began engaging our community through social media. As we did, we watched God increase our community Bible study to 10, bringing someone to saving faith, and leading to us our first international intern from Bulloxi, Mississippi.
Kilbride Community Church is a church plant out of Calvary Baptist Church and Mile One Mission. Mile One Mission was created in 2017 with a vision to plant ten gospel-centred churches throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Click on the links if you want to learn more about the church or Mile One.
Please join us in prayer for this new work in Newfoundland.
